Elder Chris Crouse – For He Shall Save His People From Their Sins

An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him that Mary would bring forth a son. When the Lord makes a promise, He is both able and willing to fulfill it. The child would be called Jesus, meaning “Savior,” for He would save His people from their sins. Our fifth article of faith affirms that Christ took on our responsibility and died solely for His elect, and that His righteousness is imputed to us. Elder Chris examines the popular belief that Christ’s work was made available to all, giving everyone the opportunity to believe and be saved. Using the Word of God, he refutes this view and proclaims that Christ’s saving work was for His elect alone—and that it is certain.
