Elder Mark Quarles – Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch
In Acts 8 we read where Philip preached Christ, many were healed, and there was great joy. An angel of the Lord directed him to go to the desert at Gaza and to go to a man with great authority and treasure of Ethiopia. Philip was obedient to what the Lord asked him to do. The Eunuch was reading from Isaiah: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth.” The Eunuch asked if it Isaiah was writing about himself or some other man. Then Philip began to preach Jesus Christ. After learned what Christ did for him he was baptized and left rejoicing. Elder Mark encourages us that no matter what we have going on in our life, we have so much to rejoice in.
