Elder Ronald Lawrence – The Miraculous Works of God
Paul felt it was important for the churches to be enlightened and not ignorant, connecting Old Testament miracles to Christ. When the Lord brought the nation of Israel out of Egypt there were none that perished. This is a picture of Christ bringing eternal salvation to all those that are His of every nation. God gave the children of Israel what they needed, manna from above. Manna was a gift of God from Heaven, having many aspects like Christ. In the midst of murmuring, God instructed Moses to smite a rock for water and later to speak to the rock for water, providing for His people. Elder Ronald explains just as God provided in the wilderness for forty years, and He can provide for us in the present day we live.
