Elder Chris Crouse – Fulfilling the Law and Prophecies
Jesus did not come to revolt against the law or prophecies, but to completely fulfill them. Elder Chris points out this was Christ’s purpose and he was the only one that could do it. The scribes were the ones that wrote copies of the law and understood it well. The Pharisees kept the law outwardly. Christ explained to the multitude that their righteousness would have to exceed these two groups, pointing out that all have sinned and fallen short. Thankfully Christ took care of the law for us in a righteous way, and proceeds in his sermon to shift minds from the written law to the heart.
