Elder Chris Crouse – Meekness and Hunger after Righteousness

Elder Chris points out that meekness is contrary to nature. By nature, man has a first response to retaliate. Moses felt he was not qualified to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. But he ultimately obeyed the Lord. Christ instructs us to take his yoke upon us for rest. It sounds strange to take on a burden in order to find rest, but when we labor in Christ, we learn meekness and lowness of heart that lightens our load. Christ also teaches that blessed are those that hunger and thirst after righteousness. Elder Chris explains this is not outward righteousness of ourselves, but rather a craving to be in the image of Christ.
